Q?  What are the dates for Summer Music and Arts?

         A.  June 27 -July 22, 2016 The program will be closed on Monday July 4, in observance of Independence day.

 

Q?  How much does Summer Music and Arts cost?

         A.  Cost for the program is $110/ class. Theater and Set design are 2 class lengths each. Therefore, each of these classes cost $220.
The South Huntington Summer Music and Arts program has a limited number of scholarships available. Applications for scholarship can be picked up at the district office.

 

Q?  Does my child have to know how to play an instrument to join the music classes?

         A.  No! Summer Music and Arts offers a wide variety of beginner classes. Student who wish to learn to play an instrument, or try a second instrument are encouraged to register for any of our fantastic beginner courses. Intermediate music lessons are reserved for students who have at least 1 1/2 years of experience with lessons on their instrument.

 

Q?  Can I borrow an instrument?

          A.  Yes! South Huntington UFSD owns the following instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Tenor, Saxophone, French Horn, Baritone, Trombone, Tuba and Percussion. Instruments will be available on the first day of the program.

 

Q?  Is there a full day option for this program?

          A.  Yes! Your child can make it a full day experience and add on an afternoon at the Wildcats Sports Camp. Lunch is provided. Just add this option at the time of registration.

 

Q?  Are the Elementary students closely monitored?

          A.  Yes! Our younger students are escorted to their classes by our warm and caring staff. There are many junior staff members on hand to make sure our younger campers are happy and engaged!
